Welcome to Medrano Bar Restaurant, a culinary gem nestled in the heart of La Jonquera, Girona, Spain. This charming spot, located at Carrer Carles Bosch de la Trinxeria, 11, has quickly become the go-to destination for locals and visitors alike, thanks to its delightful fusion of traditional Catalan flavors and a warm, inviting ambiance.
The reviews speak volumes about the experience you can expect here. Patrons rave about the delectable home-cooked meals, including standout dishes like the renowned bravas and mixed seafood platter. As Bartosz Rachuta highlights, not only is the food delicious, but the value is also exceptional, with a three-course menu including drinks available for around 20 euros. Indeed, a trip to Medrano ensures you'll leave both satisfied and with a little extra leftover in your wallet.
Fans of the restaurant appreciate the laid-back vibe and attentive service, perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal. Valerie Adler, a frequent visitor from across the French border, notes the charm of popping over to Medrano for a fresh experience, indulging in their impressive selection of beers and wines paired with generous portions straight from the grill. Here, every dish tells a story, and every bite is a testament to the rich culinary heritage of the region.
The two distinct menus, priced at 12 euros and 20 euros, offer guests the opportunity to choose between traditional offerings or delve into a more expansive selection. As Vlad CH points out, the higher-priced menu comes with a selection that truly showcases the kitchen's prowess, complete with a delightful dessert to cap off your meal.
In a world where dining out can often feel impersonal, Medrano Bar Restaurant stands out as a beloved neighborhood establishment that fosters community through food. With commendations from guests like John Booker, who describes it as "lively and lovely," it’s clear that every visit promises not just a meal, but a memorable experience.

Great place with very nice service. Food was delicious, home wine was good, bravas were amazing. And all of that for 25 euro with extra tapas! Highly recommended!

Just love this place. We live across the border in France. We just pop over into Spain, and get a whole different vibe. Bar Medrano has good beer and wine, tapas, and generous portions off the grill. Try the mixed fish and seafood platter. Yum.

Awesome food, great price, nice people. What's not to like? Recommended A+. PS there are 2 menus, one us 12EUR and the other 20EUR - but the food is not the same as some people think! 20EUR menu choice is better, and the desert is included!

A small restaurant far from the hustle and bustle of modern Jonquera. Free parking spaces around. You dine in peace and in safety. The Police make a round every quarter of an hour. There is nothing to say about the Quality Price and Quantity Ratio. I recommend you
